Sustainability & Recycling
/ sustainability
What most people call rubbish usually isn’t.
Recycling is part of how we work
At Shox Electrical we recycle everything we can. Lindsay looks after our recycling and sustainability, sorting the waste that comes back from every job right here in our workshop, so our crews can keep moving and stay on the tools. If it can be reused, recycled or re-homed, it is.
Since we started sorting everything in-house, the rubbish we send to landfill has dropped from about a trailer load each week to around half a trailer load once a month. It’s less waste, less cost and a lot more of it going somewhere useful.
Where it all goes
Cardboard and packaging are separated out and recycled.
Wire is sorted by grade and sold to recyclers, and wire reels go back to the supplier to be reused.
Aluminium cans go to a local school, which sells them to raise money for its PTA.
Light shades, switchgear, motors, batteries, plastics and parts from ovens are all recycled.
Tools, gloves and other useful items that get thrown out by mistake are rescued and reused.

Sustainability reporting for your project
We can give you a project-specific sustainability report for the job we do for you. It shows what we did sustainability-wise on your project, and what we saved and recycled along the way, so you can see the difference it made.
